Troubleshooting printers

Here are some helpful things to try if you are having issues with a printer:

  1. Make sure you are selecting the right printer. The network printers placed around campus are called ‘KyoceraBnW’ in the printer selection menu. If you are using a desk printer or another standalone printer, make sure your selection matches the make and model of the printer usually located somewhere on the front.
  2. Make sure you have an internet connection. Most printers will not process the print job if the computer has no internet connection.
  3. If using one of the network printer with a pin pad on the screen, make sure you are entering the correct number. The 4 digit pin to unlock the printer is your 4 digit employee pin. If you are unsure of what your number is, reach out to Angela in HR: angela.smith@eliada.org
  4. If your job is not showing up, do not worry. Sometimes the system can lag behind and take up to twenty minutes to process the request. If after waiting an extended period and you are still having issues, follow through with contacting IT for additional help.
  5. If you are experiencing a jam, the first step is to look on the screen to see if the printer can tell you where the jam is located and how to access the area and unjam it.
